Sponsoring Elderly Tibetan Refugees
Our business is directly associated with a Tibetan refugee camp located in the Jawalakhel district of Nepal. We have been working with this community to provide direct assistance toward the camps livelihood in the areas of Tibetan rug exports and sponsorship. Please visit About us or The Tibetans for more information.

The Tibetan refugee camp has an aged care home which currently accommodates a small population of 17 elderly Tibetans (see above picture).
The elderly people living in this home have lived and worked within the camp for many years. They do not have any family members to support or take care of them. They are currently 100% reliant on the on the Tibetan refugee community within the camp to provide food, nursing care, accommodation and medical assistance. When I visited the home in December 2010, I was deeply moved by the warmth and kindness of these people and their sincere appreciation for any assistance that we can offer to help provide care and to improve their quality of life.
The refugee community is home to approximately 750 refugees. Due to poor economic conditions the camp is struggling to support its community in the areas of housing, employment, education and aged care. Please visit The Tibetans and About us for more information.
About the Elderly Sponsorship Scheme
The refugee community is currently unable to provide nurses or carers to clean and look after the elderly people in its aged care home. They are in desperate need for financial assistance to employ 2 full time carers and to provide medical care for the elderly. Some of the residents are unwell or unable to leave their rooms and take care of themselves (see adjacent picture).
The elderly sponsorship scheme has commenced in December 2010. The scheme is “100% non profit” and intended to provide direct financial assistance to the elderly people living in this facility. Every cent that is received through your donations goes directly to the elderly people living in this home.
How You can help
We are desperately trying to raise funds to employ 2 full time carers to nurse and privide care for the elderly people living in this home. We are trying to raise an initial $2,400 to employ 2 people for 12 months, we would be very grateful for any assistance in the following areas;
