Pashmina is also referred to as cashmere wool. It is made from the underbelly fur of changthangi or pashmina goats that live in the high altitudes of the Himalayan regions of Nepal and Kashmir. For thousands of years, goat herders have sheared the underbelly fur of the Himalayan goats. The wool is hand spun and hand woven on a loom into pashmina shawls, scarfs and blankets.

Authentic cashmere wool is "very unique" due to its high quality and availability. The wool is renowned for its "softness" its "light weight" and it holds its colour beautifully over time.
